Some 1982-87 Celebritys may experience a slow or incomplete service brake pedal return as a result of a slight bind between the eyelet end of the brake booster pushrod and brake pedal arm attaching hardware. This condition can be repaired by replacing the original flat washer, located between the push rod and the pedal, with a new precision hardened washer. Adequately lubricate the pushrod and washers and retorque attaching nut, P/N 11500756, to 35 N-m. After installing the new washer, recheck for slow or incomplete service brake pedal return by lightly applying the service brake several times with the engine running and observing the pedal return.
