Subject: MANUAL SEAT ADJUSTER LATERAL MOVEMENT

Model and Year: 1983 AND 1984 CAVALIERS
(EXCEPT EASY ENTRY)

TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

This bulletin is being reissued to provide part numbers for the passenger side outer adjusters.

If a lateral movement of the seat adjuster is experienced, perform the following operations:

1. Remove seat and place on a clean protected surface.

2. Replace seat adjuster(s) with new adjuster(s).

P/N 20329374 Passenger Outer (Coupe)

P/N 20329375 Passenger Outer (Sedan)

P/N 20162884 Passenger Inner (Coupe)

P/N 20162885 Passenger Inner (Sedan)

P/N 20330804 Driver's Inner (Coupe)

P/N 20330805 Driver's Inner (Sedan)

3. Install release wire (P/N 20162898) between lock bars.

4. If the adjuster to floor attaching stud is loose in the floor, weld the stud (mig or gas with steel rod only) into place using standard body shop repair procedure for structural components.

5. Install seat to floor and torque seat adjuster-to-floor pan attaching nuts 20 to 28 N-m (15 to 21 ft.lb.)
