Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair




Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Disconnect the auxiliary lower transmission line to the auxiliary transmission oil cooler (TOC). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the lower TOC line from the auxiliary TOC.




5. Disconnect the radiator to auxiliary TOC line from the auxiliary TOC. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the radiator to TOC line from the auxiliary TOC.




7. Remove the auxiliary TOC retaining bolts.
8. Remove the auxiliary TOC from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the auxiliary TOC to the vehicle then tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
2. Install the auxiliary TOC retaining bolts.




3. Install the radiator to TOC line to the auxiliary TOC.
4. Connect the radiator to TOC line to the auxiliary TOC. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).




5. Install the lower TOC line to the auxiliary TOC.
6. Connect the lower TOC line to the auxiliary TOC. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
7. Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Fill Procedure (Procedures).
