Thermostat Bypass Hose: Service and Repair

Coolant Bypass Hose Replacement (LC3) (4.4L SC)

Removal Procedure




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the water outlet housing. Refer to Water Outlet Replacement (LF1/LLT) (Service and Repair)Water Outlet Replacement (LC3) (Service and Repair)Water Outlet Replacement (LH2) (Service and Repair).
3. Compress the clamp, and remove the bypass hose from the water outlet housing.

Installation Procedure




1. Compress the clamp and install the bypass hose to the water outlet housing.
2. Install the water outlet housing. Refer to Water Outlet Replacement (LF1/LLT) (Service and Repair)Water Outlet Replacement (LC3) (Service and Repair)Water Outlet Replacement (LH2) (Service and Repair).
3. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
4. Check the cooling system for leaks.
