Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair




Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement (V6)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (SFI) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
4. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.




5. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose clamps (1) and hoses (2) from the power steering fluid cooler (3).




6. Loosen the front bumper fascia enough to pull it forward and remove the power steering fluid cooler bracket bolt (1). Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).
7. Remove the power steering fluid cooler bracket nut (3).
8. Remove the power steering fluid cooler (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the power steering fluid cooler (2) to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the power steering fluid cooler bracket bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

3. Install the power steering fluid cooler bracket nut (3).

Tighten the nut to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

4. Secure the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).




5. Connect the power steering cooler hoses (2) and clamps (1) to the power steering fluid cooler (3).
6. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
9. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (SFI) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
