Water Pump Pulley Replacement
Tools Required
^ J38825 Power Steering and Water Pump Pulley Remover
^ J39946 Crankshaft Socket - 4.0L and 4.6L
^ J38823 Water Pump Pulley Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the water pump drive belt tensioner shield.
2. Align the crankshaft to top dead center (TDC) using the J39946.
3. Remove the end cap from the intake camshaft.
4. Remove the water pump drive pulley from the intake camshaft using the J38825.
Installation Procedure
1. Place the water pump drive pulley in position on the intake camshaft.
2. Install the water pump pulley onto the intake camshaft using the J38823. During installation, the tool will bottom out on the camshaft at the proper depth.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the camshaft end cap.
Tighten the cap to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
4. Install the water pump drive belt tensioner shield.
