Thermostat: Service and Repair

Thermostat And Housing:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain coolant to a level below that of the thermostat housing.
2. Upper air filter assembly.
3. Two screws fastening upper and lower thermostat housing together.
4. Upper thermostat housing.
5. Thermostat and gasket from lower housing.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Thermostat and gasket into lower housing.
2. Upper thermostat housing. Tighten the upper-to-lower thermostat housing bolts to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
3. Upper air filter assembly.
4. Refill coolant.
