Hydraulic Assembly: Service and Repair


1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle and remove left front wheel.
2. Support front of cradle with screw jack, then disconnect Y-pipe from catalytic converter.
3. Remove left front wheel housing splash shields, then disconnect brake lines from BPM valve.
4. Remove brake line bundle from left hand frame rail.
5. Remove bolts from Nos. 1 and 2 body mounts, then loosen No. 3 body mount, then using a a screw jack, slowly lower front cradle about 4-5 inches.
6. Remove BPM valve cover (No. 2 Torx), then TCS prime pipe (if equipped).
7. Remove BPM valve ground straps, mounting nuts then BPM valve through wheel housing.
8. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Tighten BPM valve mounting nuts to 86 inch lbs.
b. When installing ABS/TCS harness, ensure ignition is Off and all connectors are connected.
c. Ensure brake pipes are correctly installed to BPM valve (inlet vs. outlet). If pipes are switched, brake lockup will occur and personal injury may result.
d. Tighten BPM valve brake pipes to 13 ft. lbs.
e. Tighten body mount bolts to 50 ft. lbs.
f. Tighten exhaust manifold front pipe to catalytic converter bolts to 9 ft. lbs.
g. Tighten left front wheel nuts to 100 ft. lbs.
