Control Valve Body & Solenoids Disassembly


CONTROL VALVE BODY AND SOLENOIDS 4T60-E

CLEAN AND INSPECT:
1. Control valve assembly thoroughly in clean solvent. Move the valves with a pick or small screwdriver to ensure that any dirt or debris is dislodged.
2. Do not clean solenoids in solvent.
3. Air dry.

DISASSEMBLY
1. Shift solenoids and VCC solenoids are held in place with spring clips (see exploded view).
2. Position control valve assembly on a clean surface.
3. Remove valve trains beginning with the upper left corner of the valve body.

IMPORTANT: Some valves are under spring pressure. Cover the end of the bore when removing roll pins.

4. Valves, springs and bushings must be laid out on a clean surface exactly the way they were removed.

CLEAN:
- All valves, springs, and bushings in solvent, then dry using compressed air.

INSPECT:
1. Shift solenoids and PWM solenoids for:
^ Cut O-ring.
^ Bent electrical connector or broken wire.
^ Cracked or damaged plastic housing.
^ Foreign material.

2. All valves and bushing for:
^ Wear.
^ Nicks.
^ Scratches.
^ Springs for damage or distorted coils.
^ Valves body casting for:
^ Porosity.
^ Interconnected oil passages.
^ Damaged machine surfaces.
^ Damaged pump shaft bearing.

ASSEMBLE
1. Valves, springs and bushings in the order that they came out.
2. Move the valves with a pick or small screwdriver to ensure that all assemblies move correctly.
