Mounting Bracket Service


Removal
1. Remove caliper as outlined previously.
2. Remove mounting bracket attaching bolts, then mounting bracket.

Bushing & Boot Replacement
1. Remove mounting bracket from vehicle.
2. Remove bolt boots from support bushings, Fig. 2.
3. Clamp bracket in a suitable vise, then pry support bushings from inner bushings in bracket ears with small screwdriver.
4. Using a paper clip, pull inner bushings from mounting bracket ears.
5. Lubricate inner bushings with silicone based grease, then install bushings flush with bracket ears.
6. Position .080-.090 inch thick shim stock on bracket ear face, then tap support bushings, with plastic mallet, into inner bushings, Fig. 3. When properly installed, bushing should protrude .080-.090 inch above bracket ear face.
7. Snap new bolt boots over support bushing lip.

Installation
1. Coat mounting bracket attaching bolt threads with Loctite sealant or equivalent. Failure to use sealant on mounting bolts may result in loosening of caliper to knuckle attachment.
2. Align mounting bracket holes, then install mounting bracket and tighten attaching bolts to specifications.
