Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

Air Injection Pump Service:

Air Pump Inlet Hose:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Radiator.
2. Insert a 1/2" drive socket handle into the square tensioner hole. Hold pump pulley from turning by compressing drive belt, then loosening pump pulley bolts.
3. Serpentine belt.
4. Pump pulley.
5. Air injection pump inlet hose.
6. Air cleaner hot air tube from heat stove.
7. Air injection pump outlet pipe.
8. Air pump mounting bolts and air pump.



INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Air pump and two mounting bolts.
^ Tighten mounting bolts to 44 Nm (32 lb ft).
2. Air injection pump outlet pipe.
3. Air cleaner hot air tube.
4. Air injection pump inlet tube.
5. Pump pulley, spacer and mounting bolts.
6. Serpentine belt.
^ Tighten pump pulley mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
7. Radiator assembly.
8. Check air injection system for proper operation.
