MODELS AFFECTED: 1987-1988 BROUGHAMS

Some 1987-1988 Broughams were built with a 2nd design filter and seal, refer to Figure 1. These filters should be serviced using the 1st design filter; P/N 8639951 includes a 1st design filter, two O-ring seals and a pan gasket, refer to Figure 2.

In August, 1987, the filter seal was changed from two O-rings to a one piece lip seal, refer to Figure 1. Either seal can be used with either filter, however, it is recommended that the lip seal, P/N 8657767, be used for service of both filters.
