Troubleshooting Hints

Servo Actuation Test:

1. Check vacuum hoses for leaks, kinks and/or restrictions.
2. Check cruise control servo linkage for proper slack.
3. If system works except for tap-up and tap-down functions, replace cruise control module.
4. Check the C/C fuse.
5. Check the resistance between grounds G131 and G250. If it is more than 0.1 ohm, clean and tighten both grounds and the negative battery cable. In cases when the ground circuit is suspect, add a ground strap between the engine block and the bulkhead.
6. If all the responses in the system diagnostic chart/Isolation chart were correct, replace the Cruise Control Module and check for proper operation.
7. It is sometimes possible for the system to be electronically functional, yet the solenoids may not seat correctly or leak vacuum. This can result in intermittent or no function of the servo. Refer to Servo Actuation Test.
