Engine Mount: Service and Repair

Right Side Engine & Transaxle Mount
1. Open hood and remove brace between engine bracket and engine, Fig. 1.
2. Remove 2 nuts securing mount to engine bracket.
3. Raise vehicle on suitable hoist and support with stands at each front frame horn.
4. Remove 2 nuts securing engine mount to frame.
5. Remove 2 nuts securing transaxle bracket to mount.
6. Remove 2 nuts securing transaxle mount to frame bracket.
7. Raise engine using support J-28467 or equivalent, lifting engine until bracket is free from engine and transaxle mounts.
8. Remove stud and bolts securing bracket to block, then remove bracket and mount by pulling forward.
9. Remove transaxle mounting bracket from transaxle, then remove mount.
10. Position engine mount and bracket between block and frame, then torque bracket bolts and stud to specifications, Fig. 1.
11. Position transaxle mount and bracket between transaxle and frame, then torque bracket retaining bolts to specifications, Fig. 1.
12. Guide mounts into position while lowering engine and reverse remaining procedure to complete installation, torquing all fasteners to specifications shown in Fig. 1.

Left Engine Mount
1. Open hood, disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Remove serpentine drive belt and discharge A/C system.
3. Install engine support tool J-28467 or equivalent.
4. Remove lower center exhaust manifold nut and top nut from engine damper.
5. Raise and support vehicle, then remove right engine splash shield and A/C splash shield.
6. Remove engine damper.
7. Remove 2 A/C compressor brackets and the A/C compressor.
8. Remove water pipe bracket bolt.
9. Remove bolts securing engine mount bracket to block and cradle, Fig. 2.
10. Remove engine mount and bracket assembly through right wheel opening.
11. Remove engine mount from bracket.
12. Reverse procedure to install, torquing engine mount fasteners to specifications shown in Fig. 2.
