Chart B-3 CCDIC Circuit
Chart:
Schematic:
You are on this chart because the odometer problem has been isolated to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and Body Control Module (BCM)components and the related data line circuitry.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart:
1. This step determines if there is a short to ground or voltage in data line CKT 800G.
2. Checking the voltage at ALDL terminal "L" will indicate whether there is a short in the data line (CKT 800A or 800B), a bad IPC or BCM component or open CKT 800E, 800A and 800G.
3. This step checks for a double open circuit in the data CKT's 80OA and 800B, or a faulty BCM.
4. Checking the voltage at ALDL terminal "L" with the IPC disconnected will indicate a possible fault in data CKT's 800A or 800G, a shorted data CKT 800B, or faulty IPC.
5. This step determines if there is a faulty IPC or a short to ground or voltage in data CKT 800B.
6. Measuring the voltage at the ALDL terminal "L" with the BCM #2 connector off will determine the cause of a faulty odometer reading to be a bad BCM, shorted CKT 800A or an open in CKT 800G.
