TEST CONDITIONS
1. Cruise control enabled;
2. Cruise control engaged

FAILURE CONDITIONS
Engine RPM equal to or greater than 4800 for 0.25 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN
1. Disengage cruise control.

DESCRIPTION This code will set if engine RPM exceeds 4800 RPM. This may occur on slippery pavement, extended wide open throttle acceleration; or for some mechanical problems (such as transmission slippage). Under these conditions, Code EO66 will set and should be considered normal. The driver should be advised why the cruise deenergized. Clear the code and road test vehicle to verify normal operation.

ECM CODE EO66 CRUISE-ENGINE RPM TOO HIGH

This code will set if engine rpm exceeds 5000 rpm. This may occur on slippery pavement, extended wide open throttle acceleration, or for some mechanical problems (such as transmission slippage). under these conditions, Code EO66 will set and should be considered normal. The driver should be advised why the cruise disengaged. Clear the code and road test vehicle to verify normal operation
