Driver/Vehicle Information Display: Description and Operation

The BCM responds to customer selected inputs and transmits the proper display temperature and mode indicator information back to the CCP over a data circuit. Using this information, the CCP illuminates its vacuum fluorescent display using voltage supplied by the BCM. The intensity of the display is controlled by the BCM over a ``dimming control'' circuit. This circuit provides a variable control signal to all vacuum fluorescent displays on the instrument panel to allow constant illumination between components.
