Chart 2 Compressor Not Engaged

Chart:

Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The compressor clutch coil is fed power through a control relay and is grounded, based on the A/C enable conditions, through the power module (First Design) or directly to generator ground (Second Design).

TEST DESCRIPTION
1. The A/C clutch status light (front defrost) indicates if the clutch is engaged (symbol on, clutch on; symbol off, clutch off).
2. The A/C low pressure status light (rear defrost) indicates if the switch is open (symbol on) or closed (symbol off).
3. Body Control Module (BCM) data value BD28 displays the A/C low side temperature. The normal range is from -34°C to 87°C (. This step checks to see if the faulty reading is due to the low side temperature sensor or the BCM.
4. This step checks to see if the faulty reading is due to the compressor circuit or the power module circuit.
5. This step checks to see if the fault is due to the power module feed circuit or ground circuit.
6. This step checks to see if the fault is due to the power module or the programmer circuit.
7. This step checks to see of the fault is due to the programmer circuitry or the programmer.
