SUBJECT: TRANSFERRING ENGINE DRESS ITEMS TO A GOODWRENCH DIESEL ENGINE
MODELS AFFECTED: 1978 TO PRESENT - ALL MODELS
When transferring certain engine dress items from a removed diesel engine to a Goodwrench diesel engine, certain precautions should be observed. For example, our experience has shown that stuck piston rings generally result from an excessive amount of EGR. Therefore, in the event of a sticking piston ring condition in the engine being replaced, the following items should be checked, cleaned or replaced before being transferred to the Goodwrench diesel engine:
^ EGR Valve
^ VRV Valve
^ EPR Valve
^ CDR Valve
^ Ventilation Filter
^ Ventilation Pipe and Elbows
^ Air Crossover
^ Intake Manifold
