WIPER TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
- J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.
3. Remove the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232.

IMPORTANT: The hole in the right-hand side of the plenum must be used for transmission removal. Rotate the transmission as necessary to extract it from the plenum.




4. Remove the 6 screws and the transmission from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the transmission onto the vehicle with 6 screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (70 lb in).




2. Install the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529.

IMPORTANT: The socket must be fully seated on the ball.

3. Install the air inlet grille panel.
4. Install the wiper arms.
