Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair

Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement

* Tools Required
- J 41623-P Cooler Quick Connect Tool

Removal Procedure

Notice: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Position a drain pan under the vehicle.





3. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hose retainer at the transaxle.
4. Slide the white plastic covers away from the transaxle oil cooler hose quick connections.





5. Disconnect the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the transaxle using the J 41623-B.
6. Slide the white plastic covers away from the transaxle oil cooler hose quick connections.
7. Disconnect the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the radiator using the J 41623-B.





8. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses (1, 2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses into the vehicle.





2. Push the transaxle oil cooler hoses (1, 2) into the radiator quick connect fittings, until a "click" is heard.
3. Tug gently on the cooler hoses to ensure proper retention.
4. Slide the white plastic covers over the transaxle oil cooler hose quick connections.





5. Push the Transaxle oil cooler hoses into the Transaxle quick connect fittings, until a "click" is heard.
6. Tug gently on the cooler hoses to ensure proper retention.
7. Slide the white plastic covers over the transaxle oil cooler hose quick connections.





8. Install the transaxle oil cooler hose retainer onto the transaxle.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Fill the transaxle to the proper level.
11. Inspect the transaxle fluid level.
12. Inspect for fluid leaks.
