Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the EVAP vent hose (6), the purge pipe (8), and the vapor pipe (7) from the EVAP canister (1).
3. Release the EVAP canister retaining strap and remove the EVAP canister (1) from the fuel tank.
IMPORTANT: Replace the EVAP canister retaining strap when removing the EVAP canister.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the EVAP canister (1) on the fuel tank.
2. Install a new EVAP canister retaining strap.
3. Connect the EVAP vent hose (6), the purge pipe (8), and the vapor pipe (7) to the EVAP canister (1).
NOTE: Refer to Nylon Pipes Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the fuel tank.
