Steering Column Bracket

BRACKET REPLACEMENT - STEERING COLUMN

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column.
3. Remove the 2 fasteners retaining the steering column support bracket (1) to the I/P carrier
4. Remove the steering column support bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Apply LOCTITE(R) 242 on threads of both fasteners.
2. Install the bracket (1) to the I/P carrier with the fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the steering column.
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
