Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

EVAPORATOR CORE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Service and Repair




2. Remove the seal from around the heater core and the evaporator tubes.
3. Remove the upper HVAC case screws.
4. Separate the HVAC module case halves.




5. Remove the evaporator core.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Add the proper amount of refrigerant oil to the evaporator.




2. Install the evaporator core.
3. Align and connect the HVAC module case halves.
4. Install the upper HVAC module case screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).




5. Install the seal over the heater core and the evaporator pipes.
6. Install the HVAC module assembly.
