Shift Lever Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.





3. Remove the shift lever retaining screw (3).
4. Disconnect electrical connector from traction control harness if equipped and feed harness out of column. Observe the harness routing and location to assist in reassembly.
5. Pull the shift lever (4) upward to remove the lever from the linear shift assembly.

Installation Procedure
1. Push the shift lever downward to engage the lever into the linear shift assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the shift lever retaining screw (3).
Tighten the screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).
3. Feed the traction control harness back through the column. Carefully route the harness as previously observed.
4. Install the steering column trim covers.
5. Enable the SIR system.
