Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the A/C evaporator tube from the condenser.
3. Remove the evaporator line fastener.
4. Remove the A/C evaporator tube from the evaporator.
5. Disconnect the A/C hose clip (1) at the rail.
6. Remove the A/C evaporator tube clips.
7. Remove the A/C evaporator tube from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the A/C evaporator tube in the vehicle.
2. Install the A/C evaporator tube clips.
3. Connect the A/C evaporator tube to the evaporator.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the evaporator line fastener.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C evaporator tube connection to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
IMPORTANT: If the clip was damaged during removal, install a new clip.
5. Install the evaporator tube into the clip (1) at the rail and fasten.
6. Connect the A/C evaporator tube to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the connection to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
7. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
8. Leak test the component fittings using the J 39400-A.
