Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair

WASHER PUMP/RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the washer pump and the washer solvent level sensor.
2. Disconnect the washer hose from the washer pump.




3. Remove the two nuts and the washer solvent container (the washer solvent container has a tab which is in a slot in the vehicle body).




4. Remove the washer pump and the grommet from the washer solvent container.
5. Remove the washer solvent level sensor from the washer solvent container.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: The tab on the washer solvent level sensor must be aligned with the slot in the hole.




1. Install the washer solvent level sensor into the washer solvent container.
2. Install the grommet and the washer pump into the washer solvent container.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Install the washer solvent container with two nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 8 N.m (70 lb in).




4. Connect the electrical connectors to the washer solvent level sensor and the washer pump.
5. Connect the washer hose to the washer pump.
6. Fill the washer solvent container with washer solvent.
