Accumulator Tube Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the accumulator tube nut.
3. Disconnect the accumulator tube from the evaporator.
4. Loosen the accumulator tube nut.
5. Remove the accumulator tube from the accumulator.
6. Remove the accumulator tube from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the accumulator tube to the vehicle.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the accumulator tube to the accumulator
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Connect the accumulator tube to the evaporator.
4. Connect the evaporator tube to the evaporator.
5. Install the evaporator tube nut.
Tighten
Tighten the accumulator nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
6. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Leak test the component fittings using the J 39400-A.
