Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble

1. Check the steering column for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection.





2. Remove the tilt lever (2) from the trim covers (1).





3. Remove 2 pan head tapping screws (2) from the lower trim cover (1).
4. Unsnap the closeout trim cover from the lower trim cover (1).
5. Remove the lower trim cover (1).





6. Slide the shift lever seal up the shift lever.
7. Remove 1 TORX(R) head screw (3) from the upper trim cover (1).
8. Remove the upper trim cover (1) with the closeout trim cover (2).





9. Remove the closeout trim cover (2) from the upper trim cover (1).





10. Remove the trim cover protector (1) from the lower trim cover (2).
