Bracket Replacement - Knee Bolster

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
3. Remove the fasteners from the knee bolster bracket at the instrument panel (IP).
4. Remove the fasteners from the knee bolster bracket at the steering column support.
5. Remove the knee bolster bracket from the IP.




6. Remove the knee bolster bracket to IP retainer fasteners.
7. Remove the knee bolster bracket from the IP retainer.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the knee bolster bracket to the IP retainer.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the knee bolster bracket to the IP retainer fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




3. Install the knee bolster bracket to the instrument panel.
4. Install the fasteners to the knee bolster bracket at the steering column support.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Install the fasteners to the knee bolster bracket at the IP.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
7. Install the left instrument panel closeout/insulator panel.
