Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C pressure switch.




4. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut at the compressor.
5. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose assembly from the compressor.




6. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut at the condenser.
7. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose assembly from the condenser.




8. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut at the accumulator.
9. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
10. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the vehicle.
11. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor from the hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to the hose.
2. Install the A/C compressor hose to the vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the seal washers for damage before reinstalling the A/C lines and hoses.

If any damage is noted during inspection, the suspect seal must be replaced.

Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Connect the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
4. Install the A/C compressor hose nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 39 N.m (31 lb ft).




5. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C pressure switch.




6. Connect the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
7. Install the A/C compressor hose nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).




8. Install the A/C compressor hose and nut to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
11. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
