Park Brake Cable Replacement-RearRemoval Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle and suitably support. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the right rear park brake cable (5) from the intermediate park brake cable (3).
3. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable (2) from the equalizer (1).
4. Remove the conduit fitting from the bracket by depressing the conduit fitting retainer.
5. Remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
6. Remove the left park brake cable guide bolts (3).
7. Remove the right park brake cable guide bolts (3).
8. Disconnect the left or right park brake cable (2) from the park brake levers.
9. Remove the left and/or right park brake cable from the caliper support brackets by depressing the conduit fitting retainer.
10. Remove the left and/or right park brake rear cable (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the left (2) and/or the right (5) rear park brake cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the conduit fitting to the bracket.
3. Connect the left rear park cable to the equalizer (1).
4. Connect the right rear park brake cable (5) to the intermediate park brake cable (3).
5. Install the left and/or the right park brake cable (2) into the park brake cable guides (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the left and/or the right park brake cable guide bolts (3).
^ Tighten the left and/or the right park brake cable guide bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the left and/or the right park brake cable (1) to the caliper support brackets.
8. Connect the park brake cables (2) to the park brake levers.
9. Install the tire and wheel assemblies.
