Trailing Arm: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the ABS electrical harness.
3. Disconnect the trailing arm (1) from the knuckle.
4. Remove the trailing arm bracket-to-body bolts.
5. Disconnect the trailing arm from the trailing arm bracket (2).
6. Remove the trailing arm (1).


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Connect the trailing arm (1) to the trailing arm bracket (2).
2. Install the trailing arm bracket bolt and nut.
^ Tighten the trailing arm bracket nut to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Position the trailing arm bracket to the body.
4. Install bracket mounting bolts.
^ Tighten the trailing arm bracket to body bolts to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).

5. Connect the trailing arm to the knuckle.
^ Tighten the trailing arm to knuckle nut to Nm (192 ft. lbs.).

6. Connect the ABS electrical harness.
7. Lower the vehicle.
