Headrest Motor Replacement - Front Seat

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the seat assembly.
2. Remove the head restraint (1).
3. Remove the seatback trim cover (7).
4. Remove the J-channel from the head restraint side of the seat in order to expose the seatback frame (13).
5. Remove the roller assembly.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from under the seat frame.

7. Remove the 2 bolts (10).
8. Back out the seatback retainer bolts (11) in order to allow clearance for the adjuster motor wire harness connector.
9. Remove the head restraint adjuster motor (5).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Feed the wire harness down through the seatback frame (13).
2. Install the head restraint adjuster motor (5).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the head restraint adjustment motor bolts (10).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

4. Apply Loctite(TM) 242 (GM PIN 12345382) to the seatback frame bolts.
5. Install the seat back retaining bolts (11).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the roller assembly.
7. Connect the electrical connector.
8. Install the seat cover J-channel.
9. Install the seatback trim cover.
10. Install the head restraint.
11. Install the seat assembly.
