Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disable the SIR system.





3. Remove the steering wheel inflator module (3).
4. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut (2).
5. Remove the steering wheel (1) from the steering column shaft.





6. Remove the upper and lower shrouds.
7. Pop the wire harness assembly (4) out of the wire harness strap (5).
8. Remove three wire harness straps (3) from the wire harness assembly (4).
9. Remove one wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).





10. Remove the black SIR connector (2) from the fused jumper assembly connector (1).





11. Remove the retaining ring (1).
12. Remove the SIR coil assembly (3).
13. Remove the wave washer (2).
