Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the trim panel.
2. Remove the door module.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the inner and outer belt moldings.
5. Remove the outside rearview mirror.
6. Remove the window.
7. Remove the fasteners from the front window channel (2).
8. Carefully pull the window weatherstrip (1) and channel (2) from the door.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: When reusing the window weatherstrip, the flange mounting area (1) must be pinched together to counteract the splaying effect when removed. Use the thumb and index finger to pinch the carrier (2) back together.




1. Work from one end of the weatherstrip to the other.




2. Install the window weatherstrip (1) to the door starting in the top corner working outward in both directions.
3. Firmly seat the window weatherstrip to the door.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the window channel fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the window channel fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the door window.
6. Install the outside rearview mirror.
7. Install the inner and outer belt moldings.
8. Install the water deflector.
9. Install the door module.
10. Install the trim panel.
