REMOVAL PROCEDURE- Tools Required
- J 21474-4 Long Nut
- J 21474-13 Bushing Installer
- J 21474-27 Long Bolt with Thrust Bearing
- J 23444-A High Pressure Lubricant
- J 41014-1 Bushing Remover
- J 14014-2 Bushing Receiver
1. Remove the control arm from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement.
2. Place J 21474-27 with the washer through J 14014-2 over the bushing against the control arm.
3. Lubricate the bolt threads with J 23444-A.
4. Install J 41014-1 (with small end facing the bushing), the thrust bearing and J 21474-4 onto J 21474-27.
5. Tighten the nut until the bushing is driven out of the control arm.
6. Remove the bushing tools.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Start the bushing into the control arm. Ensure that the flat on the bushing is vertical and rearward.
2. Place J 21474-27 with the washer through J 41014-1 over the bushing against the control arm.
3. Lubricate the bolt threads with J 23444-A.
4. Install J 21474-13 (with the large end facing the bushing), the thrust bearing and J 21474-4 onto J 21474-27.
5. Tighten the bolt until the bushing is fully seated into the control arm.
6. Remove the bushing tools.
7. Install the control arm to the frame. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement.
