Installation Procedure

1. Install the wave washer (1).





2. To install the SIR coil assembly:
Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position.





3. The new SIR coil assembly will be precentered.
4. Pull the tab and remove. Do not depress the tab (1) on the back of the SIR coil assembly.





5. Align the SIR coil assembly (2) with the horn tower sticking through the shaft lock shield assembly (1).





Important: The retaining ring (1) must seat securely on the groove of the race and upper shaft assembly (2).

6. Install the retaining ring (1).





7. Install the black SIR connector (2) to the fused jumper assembly connector (1).





8. Pop the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
Install one wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
Install three wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).





9. Install the upper and lower shrouds.
10. Install the steering wheel (1).
11. Install the steering wheel inflator module (3).
12. Enable the SIR system.
