Seat Cushion: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



1. Remove the front seat assembly.
2. Remove the seat switch and bezel assembly (4,5,6).
3. On the 60/40 seat, remove the armrest assembly (3).

Remove the 4 nuts.




4. Disconnect the heated seat wire harness (1), if equipped.
5. Disconnect the auxiliary power outlet electrical connector, if necessary.




6. Remove the 4 nuts (9) on the bottom in each corner of the seat pan (13).
7. Remove the seat pan (13) and the seat cushion (15) as 1 piece.
8. Remove fastener retaining auxiliary power outlet if necessary.
9. Remove the power outlet (14).




10. Remove the J-channel (1) from the following components:
^ The front-to-rear flaps
^ The side-to-side flaps




11. Remove the push in retainer fastening the seat cover to the seat pan.
12. Remove the fasteners retaining the seat cover (1) to the seat switch bezel (6) mounting opening.
13. Remove the seat cushion cover (1) and the seat cushion (15).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE



1. Install the seat cushion (15) on the seat pan (13).
2. Align the seat cushion cover (1) on the seat cushion (15).




3. Feed the heated seat wire harness (1) through the cushion, if equipped.




4. Work the seat cushion cover (1) over the sides of the cushion (15) and around the seat pan (13).




5. Install the J-channel (1) on the following components:
^ The front-to-rear flaps
^ The side-to-side flaps




6. Install the retainer fastening the seat cover (1) to the seat pan (13).
7. Refasten the seat cover (1) to the seat switch bezel (6) opening.
8. Install the auxiliary power outlet (14) it necessary.
9. Install the seat pan (13) with the cushion and the cover on the seat frame assembly (11).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

10. Install the 4 nuts (9).

Tighten
Tighten the seat pan nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

11. Feed the wires from the power seat switch (4) through the side of the seat cushion cover (1).
12. Install the seat switch (4) and the bezel assembly (6).
13. Install the armrest assembly (3), if equipped.
14. Install the 4 nuts in the armrest.

Tighten
Tighten the armrest nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

15. Connect the electrical connector.
16. Install the front seat assembly.
