Muffler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
Remove or Disconnect the following components.
1. Support intermediate pipe.
2. Cut intermediate pipe as close to muffler as tool will permit. Use J 29800.
3. Muffler hangers and muffler.

INSTALLATION
Install or Connect the following components.
1. Muffler and hangers.
2. Intermediate pipe to muffler using a "U" bolt type clamp. Position clamp on drivers side muffler so nuts are toward the drivers side of vehicle, position clamp on passenger side muffler so nuts are toward passenger side of vehicle.
3. Align muffler and intermediate pipe/resonator assembly to proper clearance.
^ Clamp nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
