Caliper Anchor Bracket Replacement

Front Brake Caliper Components:






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Caliper.
2. Pads from anchor bracket
3. Pad retainers from bracket.
4. Caliper anchor bracket bolts.
5. Anchor bracket. Inspect bracket for cracks. Replace if necessary. Caliper bolt suspension boots for cuts, tears, or deterioration. If damaged, replace pin boots. Refer to Caliper Anchor Bracket Repair. Piston boot for deterioration. If damaged, overhaul caliper. Caliper pin bolt for damage or corrosion. Replace if damaged or corroded. Do Not attempt to clean away corrosion. Corrosion is typically caused by damaged pin boots.

NOTE: Apply a few drops of GM Loctite (or equivalent) to threads of caliper anchor bracket bolts before installing or replace with new pre-coated bolts.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Lubricated bushings with silicone grease.
2. Anchor bracket. Tighten caliper anchor bracket bolts to 185 Nm (137 ft. lbs.).
3. Pad retainers.
4. Pads.
5. Caliper.
