Bpmv Replacement With Traction Control

BPMV Assembly (With TCS):

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner assembly.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Electrical connectors to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Fluid level switch, Pump motor and Valve block.
4. Clamp on reservoir hose to BPMV reservoir. Obtain a 15.5 mm (5/8 in.) plug to be used in Step 5.
5. Reservoir hose from BPMV reservoir and plug hose to prevent escape of brake fluid.
6. Primary and secondary brake pipes from BPMV.
7. Brake pipes from BPMV.
8. Harness strap.
9. BPMV bolts.
10. BPMV. When replacing BPMV, transfer necessary parts to new unit.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. BPMV.

NOTE: Improper installation/inverting of the metal gasket could introduce extremely high pressures during the autobleed procedure and cause severe damage to various components on the brake system. Make sure the locator tab is positioned correctly so that all the internal ports between the pump and valve block assembly are not blocked. Valve block to pump bolts should be tightened to 29 Nm (21.4 ft. lbs).

2. BPMV mounting bolts. Tighten Bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs).
3. Harness strap.
4. Brake pipes to BPMV. Tighten Brake pipes to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs).
5. Primary and secondary brake pipes to BPMV. Tighten Brake pipes to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs).
6. Reservoir hose to BPMV reservoir.
7. Reservoir clamp.
8. Electrical connectors to BPMV. Fluid level switch, Pump motor and Valve block.
9. Negative battery cable.
10. Air cleaner assembly. Fill brake fluid reservoir. Bleed brake system. Clean Brake fluid from BPMV area to prevent damage to vehicle components.
11. Perform Diagnostic System Check.
