Change Oil Soon Indicator

The "CHANGE OIL SOON" indicator should come on as a bulb check when the engine is first started. If this indicator stays on for approximately 20 seconds when the ignition is first turned "ON", change the engine oil and filter.

When to change the engine oil also depends on driving habits and conditions because they directly affect engine speed coolant temperature and vehicle speed. Because of this, the "CHANGE OIL SOON" indicator may come on as early as 2,000 miles (3200 km) or less under harsh driving conditions. Reset this indicator after every oil change.
