Brake Hose Inspection
The flexible hydraulic brake hoses, which transmit hydraulic pressure from the steel brake lines on the body to the calipers, should be inspected at least twice a year.
Inspect
- Brake hoses for:
^ Road hazard damage.
^ Cracks.
^ Chafing of the outer cover.
^ Leaks.
^ Blisters.
^ Proper routing and mounting.
- A light and mirror may be needed for an adequate inspection.
- If any of the above conditions are observed on a brake hose it will be necessary to replace it.
