Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair

^ Tools Required:
- J 21474-4 Long Nut
- J 21474-13 Bushing Installer
- J 21474-27 Long Bolt with Thrust Bearing
- J 23444-A High Pressure Lubricant
- J 41014-1 Bushing Remover
- J 41014-2 Bushing Receiver
- Or Equivalents






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Control arm from vehicle.
^ Assemble bushing tools as follows:
A. Bolt J 21474-27 with washer through bushing receiver J 41014-2 over bushing against control arm.
B. Lube bolt threads with high pressure lubricant J 23444-A.
C. Install bushing remover J 41014-1 (small end facing bushing), thrust bearing and nut J 21474-4 onto bolt J 21474-27.
2. Tighten nut until bushing is driven out of control arm.
3. Bushing tools.





INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Start bushing into control arm ensuring flat on bushing is vertical and rearward.
^ Assemble bushing tool as follows:
A. Bolt J 21474-27 with washer through bushing receiver J 41014-1 over bushing against control arm.
B. Lube bolt threads with high pressure lubricant J 23444-A.
C. Install bushing installer J 21474-13 (large end facing bushing), thrust bearing, and nut J 21474-4 onto bolt J 21474-27.
2. Tighten bolt until bushing is fully seated into control arm.
3. Remove bushing tools.
4. Control arm to frame.
