Front

Wear Sensor Operation:

^ Inspect the brake pads every 9654 km (6000 miles). The outer pad has a wear sensor which makes noise when the pads wear to the point requiring pad replacement.
^ When any lining thickness is worn to within 0.76 mm (1/32 inch) of the pad or rivet, replace the pad assemblies as an axle set.
^ When inspecting the disc brakes, check both ends of the outer pad looking in at each end of the caliper. These points are where the highest rate of wear normally occurs.
^ Check the inner pad and to make sure that it has not worn prematurely. Look down through the hole in the top of the caliper to view the inner pad.

NOTE: Some inboard pads have a thermal layer between the friction material and the pad, integrally molded with the pad. Don't confuse this extra layer with uneven inboard-outboard pad wear.
