Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Fuel Rail Assembly.:

Fuel Pressure Regulator Assembly.:

CAUTION: Fuel pressure must be relieved prior to opening the fuel system.

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal
2. Remove fuel rail assembly

Disassemble
1. Remove pressure regulator attaching screw
2. Remove pressure regulator from fuel rail
3. Remove regulator O-ring and discard

Assemble
1. Lubricate new pressure regulator O-ring with clean engine oil and install on regulator
2. Tighten pressure regulator attaching screw
Torque Value: 9.5 N-m (84 lb.in.)


Install or Connect:
1. Install fuel rail assembly
2. Tighten filler cap
3. Connect negative battery cable

Inspect:
Turn ignition switch to "ON" position for two seconds, then turn to "OFF" for ten seconds. Again turn to "ON" position and check for fuel leaks.
