REAR BRAKE HOSE INTERFERENCE

Models:
1994-95 Buick Regal and 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

TO: ALL GENERAL MOTORS DEALERS

General Motors of Canada Limited has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1994-95 Buick Regal and 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme model vehicles. The rear wheel brake hose(s) on some of these vehicle may be contacting rear suspension components. This condition can cause the brake hose(s) to wear through, resulting in loss of brake fluid and eventual loss of vehicle braking system. If this condition were to occur in a situation where stopping distances were minimal, a vehicle crash could occur, without prior warning.

To prevent the possibility of this condition occurring, dealers are to inspect for proper rear brake hose position. Those rear brake hoses found in the incorrect position will be replaced with new hoses and correctly routed.
