Test M Pump on Request Circuit Test

M: Pump On Request Circuit Test:

ABS/TCS:

OPERATION:
^ When EBCM/EBTCM monitors brake pedal position using the TCC/antilock brake switch. The normally closed switch opens when the brake pedal is depressed approximately 40%. The EBCM/EBTCM also monitors pump motor operation using a pump motor run sensor.
^ During most ABS braking conditions the EBCM/EBTCM turns on the pump motor, replenishing the PMV assembly reservoir and applying fluid pressure to the master cylinder. This causes the brake pedal to gradually rise. The EBCM/EBTCM turns OFF the pump motor when brake pedal height rises sufficiently to close the TCC/antilock brake switch.
^ During ABS braking, DTC 62 sets when the EBCM/EBTCM determines the pump is working, and brake pedal height has not risen sufficiently to close the TCC/antilock brake switch after 3 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Air in the brake lines.
- Pump motor mechanical failure.
- Open in CKT 848 or 853.
- Misadjusted/defective TCC/antilock brake switch.
