Installation of Engine Oil Dipstick

INSTALLATION OF ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK


1. Open your vehicle's engine compartment hood.

2. Locate the engine oil dipstick ("ENGINE OIL" painted on dipstick handle) to the left of the air cleaner when looking at engine from the front of vehicle.

3. Remove old dipstick from vehicle. Place in the shipping tube and dispose properly.

4. Wipe the new dipstick clean and insert all the way into the engine dipstick tube.

5. Check engine oil level.

a. Pull out the dipstick and clean it with a paper towel or cloth.

b. Push the dipstick back in the tube all the way.

c. Remove the dipstick again, keeping the tip lower.

d. If the oil is at or below the ADD line, engine oil must be added.

6. Add oil, if necessary.

a. Remove ENGINE OIL FILL cap (located next to ENGINE OIL dipstick).

b. Add enough API SERVICE SG 5W-30 oil (see Owner's Manual for further instructions on using the right kind of oil) to raise indicated level above the ADD level to within the cross-hatched OPERATING RANGE (not to be above the OPERATING RANGE). No more than one (1) quart of oil should be necessary.

c. Push the dipstick all the way back in the dipstick tube when through.

d. Tighten the ENGINE OIL FILL cap.
